Dallas Comeback Attempt Fails, Boston Grabs 3-0 Series Lead

Boston, Mass. — The Dallas Mavericks' hopes of a comeback in the 2024 NBA Finals took a major hit on Thursday night as they fell 115-104 to the Boston Celtics in Game 3.

After trailing by 11 points entering the fourth quarter, the Mavericks staged a furious rally led by Luka Dončić. A 22-2 run brought them within two points of tying the game with under two minutes remaining.

However, the Celtics held on for the victory thanks to key performances from Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tatum finished with a team-high 30 points, while Brown added 25 points and 10 rebounds.

The Celtics now hold a commanding 3-0 lead in the series and will have a chance to clinch the NBA championship on their home court in Game 4 on Saturday night.
